DENZEL sells more than 20 brands at over 20 locations, from compact cars to vans. Online, little of that came through. With the relaunch of denzel.at, we translated Austria’s largest multi-brand car dealer into the way people actually look for cars today: by price, drivetrain and vehicle type. Not by dealer logic.

CHALLENGE

Where people wanted to go, the site was at its weakest.

The heart of denzel.at is the vehicle search, and that is exactly where the old platform was most complicated: too many filters, unclear structure, every change needed an agency loop. On top of that came two websites with separate enquiry forms, and a job few businesses face: one site has to let people find vehicles like a marketplace, buy cars from them and book service like a workshop. All for an audience that is 70 percent mobile.

“What we have now is a platform that reflects the diversity of our brands while making DENZEL visible as a strong umbrella brand. It is built consistently around what our customers actually search for and need, gives us maximum flexibility in design and lets us respond quickly and precisely to changes in the market. At its core is a simple, intuitive and consistently sales-focused customer journey.”

Approach

We didn’t improve the vehicle search. We turned it around.

Nobody searches for “used cars, filter, sort”. People search for an electric car under 40,000 euros, a convertible, a seven-seater, a BMW X3. We made these search intents the architecture of the site: landing pages for price, vehicle type, brand and drivetrain, reachable straight from Google, with the entire live stock behind them. The navigation follows the platform’s three jobs: find a vehicle, sell a vehicle, workshop and service, plus every location one click away. Every vehicle carries structured data that Google and AI assistants can read directly. The technical infrastructure was built with a strong focus on data security, performance and scalability, in close collaboration with DENZEL IT and DATA TECHNOLOGY. Statamic as a headless CMS enables efficient, cross-channel content management, running on a Kubernetes cluster that scales with traffic.

“We didn’t want a classic relaunch, we wanted a website built from the customer’s point of view. Achtzehn Grad understood that and, at the same time, took the complexity of our system landscape and our requirements seriously. The result is a platform we can build on for years to come.”

Result

One platform. Almost four times the enquiries.

Around 2,800 vehicles, every brand and every location on one platform, with one unified lead flow. In the first two weeks after go-live, enquiries per day were almost four times the average of the year before, without any media budget. DENZEL’s marketing team maintains the platform itself: landing pages, offers and campaigns. And the design system carries on: the DENZEL Group site is being built on the same foundation.
